Eltham Palace The present palace is the remains of one of England's largest medievel royal palaces and the glamorous 1930s home of Stephen and Virginia Courtauld. The Courtaulds built the house around the Great Hall of the Royal Palace. They left the house in 1944 to escape the heavy bombing over South East London. It is now an English Heritage site. |
