Letter from grandson, Francis Walter, 23 Aug 2005: "My grandfather, Frederick, was a salesman for Hazard Wire Rope Co. In his younger days he traveled all over the United States. I was told he was with them (Hazard Wire Rope Co.) for 38 yrs. I was told my grandmother Phllomena was born in Renovo, PA." Frederick Walter died on 16 Jun 1945. Comments: Frederick was definitely born in Pennsylvania, probably Wilkes-Barre, since that is the place his parents lived. In the first 3 census reports his birthplace is listed as Pennsylvania (1870, 1880 and 1900). Then the next 2 census reports has birthplace of Kansas then Missouri, which is obviously wrong. ![]() Frederick Walter is buried, with his wife, in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown, Pennsylvania.
